Inter management have decided against making January transfer window moves for Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic and Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal according to a report from British news outlet The Daily Star.

Inter president Steven Zhang, chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta, sporting director Piero Ausilio and manager Antonio Conte met for lunch over the weekend and it was there where it was decided that moves would not be made for either player.

In recent weeks and months, Inter had drawn lots of links to both players with them seemingly looking to strengthen the midfield department in January and it now remains to be seen which direction Inter will go having ruled out both Matic and Vidal.

There has been absolutely no shortage of links to other midfielders in the media with the likes of Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Fiorentina’s Gaetano Castrovilli, Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul as well as Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic all linked.
