In an interview with Chilean news outlet CDF, Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti has discussed Alexis Sanchez’s injury situation.

“Unfortunately he got hurt when he had settled down physically. He had great desire and played very well against Barcelona. He was also important against Sampdoria. It is a real pity that he has got injured but that is part of football, we are waiting for him to recover in the best way possible.

“He has great experience and great personality. He is quick and someone who can be decisive at any moment. Moreover, he is important because all the strikers we have have different characteristics but they do well when they play together.”

He was then asked on whether Sanchez could form a trident up top with Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

“They could all play together because they are very intelligent strikers, they help the team a lot. With all the competitions that we play in there is no such thing as starters or bench players. Everyone feels important and this is very important. It makes the difference in the long run.”
