Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City have both sparked an interest in signing Inter youngster Lorenzo Pirola according to a report from FCInterNews.it.
Pirola has impressed scouts of both clubs whilst away with the Italy under 17 national team at the under 17 World Cup which is currently taking place in Brazil.
Manchester United have been watching the central defender for some time now and watched him in Italy’s 2-1 win over their Mexican counterparts in their second group stage match of the tournament last Thursday.
Manchester City’s scout meanwhile took in Pirola’s performance in Italy’s 2-1 loss to Paraguay in their final group stage match, a match in which Pirola opened the scoring in after just three minutes.
Inter are well aware that they have a talented player on their hands in Pirola and as per the report, they intend to tie him down to new terms in order to deter interest in his services.
