A report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport takes stock of Inter strike partnership Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez’s goal scoring ahead of tonight’s Champions League group stage match away to Borussia Dortmund.
When playing in Serie A, when they both start, one of them has always scored. The same however cannot be said for the Champions League.
Lukaku has yet to score in the Champions League since his Summer arrival from Manchester United, who he scored seven goals for in the same competition.
Statistics show that Lukaku scores a goal in the Champions League every 200 minutes played. He has played 152 Champions League minutes so far therefore going by the statistics, the Belgian should open his account for Inter in the competition tonight.
Lautaro Martinez has meanwhile scored in two of Inter’s three Champions League fixtures to date with both goals coming in each of Inter’s past two matches.
