In an interview with tournament organisers UEFA, Borussia Dortmund defender Achraf Hakimi has shared his delight having played a vital part in his side overturning a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 against Inter last night in the Champions League.

The Moroccan started the German’s comeback with a goal on the 51st minute and would complete the comeback on the 77th minute after Julian Brandt had drew the teams level in between.

“We said we had to go full throttle after the break. Fortunately things worked for us. I am surprised to be the top scorer of Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League,” he began.

The 21-year-old, who is on loan at the Bundesliga side from Real Madrid, then went on to add: “I am lucky to be here and now I am happy to also be scoring goals. I have worked hard in the past and I am happy to have helped the team.”
