Matias Vecino has shared his thoughts and feelings following Inter’s disappointing collapse in their 3-2 loss away to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage.

The Uruguayan midfielder came back into the starting line-up as he replaced the injured Roberto Gagliardini. He repaid manager Antonio Conte for the faith shown in him by scoring Inter’s second goal, a goal which looked to have secured Inter the match by half-time.

“After the good first half we had played, we expected more in the second half. We knew they would certainly try to overturn the result and we struggled because they moved the ball quickly,” he remarked in an interview with Inter TV.

“They took a lot of courage after pulling one back and it became more difficult for us. We could not dribble and we began to suffer when we defended deep. There are things we have to learn and we must start from today’s disappointment and anger because we are still in the running and must continue to fight until the end.”
