Inter Would Be Top Of Champions League Group If Matches Ended At Half Time

A report in today’s print edition of Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport points out just how different things would be for Inter in the Champions League if games were to finish at half-time off the back of another second half collapse last night away to Borussia Dortmund.

Inter went into the interval 2-0 up with thanks to goals from Lautaro Martinez and Matias Vecino but found themselves 3-2 down come the full time whistle.

“If the matches finished in the 45th minute, Inter would be leading the group, due to first half domination. The only draw would be that of the first match with Slavia Praga whilst they were winning at half time against Barcelona and twice against Dortmund,” the report begins.

“In the 90th minute, however, they have only held onto victory once, at home to Germans whilst in Barcelona they squandered the advantage given to them by Lautaro Martinez and in Dortmund they done the same from 2-0.”
