In an interview with Canale 5, former Inter striker Christian Vieri reflected upon the Nerazzurri’s defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

“Borussia Dortmund are a great team. We must not look for an excuse, there were many individual errors. Inter is growing, the players are strong, they can only improve in my opinion,” he began.

He then spoke on the performance of Romelu Lukaku.

“He didn’t have chances to score, he seemed tired because he never rests, he tried to keep the ball, he did what he could.”

He also touched upon Matteo Politano, who was injured soon after coming on and could not make the desired impact.

“If he did not hurt his ankle he could have done something more, it was an unfortunate situation.”

In conclusion he spoke on what this defeat can mean for Inter’s growth process.

“Inter were ahead and had a great first half. That makes you grow. Many have started playing in the Champions League now and play at 2000 miles an hour.”
