Chelsea are open to offloading striker Olivier Giroud in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report from British news outlet the The Telegraph.

The 33-year-old French international’s deal is up with the club at the end of the season and due to the emergence of several young players at the club, he has been one of a few older players to have been cast aside by manager Frank Lampard.

The Blues would be willing to listen to offers for the player, as it would mean they would be able to get six months of his wages off their books.

Giroud too would like to leave the Premier League club in order to give himself the best chance at earning a spot in France’s squad for next Summer’s European Championship.

Former Arsenal and Montpellier goalscorer Giroud, has drawn links to a host of clubs both in England and abroad in recent weeks and months.

Inter are among the clubs to have shown an interest alongside the likes of West Ham, Crystal Palace and a series of French clubs have too.
