In a column in today’s print edition of Corriere della Sera, noted journalist Mario Sconcerti has had his say on Inter manager Antonio Conte’s outburst which came after Inter’s 3-2 loss away to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

“After Dortmund he literally spoke out against his own club. If any of us in any company today did that, we would be heavily punished if not fired,” he wrote.

“It was a hysterical outburst without an explanation of how Inter managed to concede three times in 20 minutes. Perhaps for Conte the pressure of an open and demanding city like Milan is too much. Perhaps it is too much that Inter does not win and Conte does not hold his own.”

He concluded: “The leadership does not have a right to intervene, they have a duty. Otherwise they will only be doing harm to themselves, to the team and to any future staff.”
