Inter could make the most of their relations with Genoa in order to get a favourable deal for young star Christian Kouame according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Genoa are likely to demand a fair sum for the 21-year-old Ivorian but rather than pay it upfront, Inter may be able to convince their friends at Genoa to let them take Kouame on loan with a redemption obligation or an option that would come with several clauses attached, which, if met, would automatically trigger redemption.

Inter could also sweeten any deal by including a player and one such player could be Matteo Politano, who has struggled for starting minutes this season.

The alternative to Kouame is SPAL’s Andrea Petagna. Petagna is very much different from Kouame but would serve a different role to the side in that he would be the deputy to Romelu Lukaku.

The report goes on to state that Inter’s primary target for the midfield is Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul. The player would be very keen on the move and Antonio Conte and Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti are both big fans of the Argentine, who is very versatile.

Gaetano Castrovilli and Dejan Kulusevski are other options but options that Inter are more likely to look into come the Summer transfer window.
