Former Inter player Antonio Manicone has shared his optimism about the path Inter find themselves on since appointing Antonio Conte and making several big signings in the Summer.

“Inter is trying to create something long lasting and are doing it very well, trying to compact the group and the management,” he started an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.

“It takes time, but in Dortmund I saw a great first half. It is important to have things in mind when it comes to what they want to do. It’s a path, there are steps to be taken and I trust what Conte and the management are doing.

There is nothing easy in football but for me, being second in the league and one point off Juventus and having their Champions League future in their own hands is all positive for Inter.”

He concluded by speaking further on the Borussia Dortmund match which Inter lost 3-2.

“Let’s not forget that Inter came up against a great team, who have European experience and a great manager on the bench. That said, Inter know that they can do better and where they can improve but as I said, it is a path.”
