Danilo D’Ambrosio is hopeful of making a return for Inter’s match this weekend, even if only onto the bench and as Tuttosport detail in today’s print edition, D’Ambrosio’s return will give Inter a boost on the defensive front.

Whilst D’Ambrosio has been out injured with a broken toe, which he sustained on international duty, the seal of Inter’s previously water tight defence has burst with them conceding no less than 12 goals during his seven matches missed, which means Inter have conceded a goal on average, every 67 minutes when he has not played.

This is an alarming increase to when he has been available. The 31-year-old has made eight appearances this season across all competitions, six of which as a starter, in which Inter have conceded just five goals at an average of one every 128 minutes.

The numbers truly speak for themselves and highlight the importance of the former Torino player, who has played at both centre back and wing back this season, toward Inter’s defence.
