According to a report from FCInterNews.it, Chelsea have set an asking price of €5 million for striker Olivier Giroud ahead of the January transfer window opening in little under two months time.

The Frenchman has drawn strong links to Inter and is keen to depart the Premier League outfit, with whom his contract is to expire with come the end of the season, having fallen right down the pecking order.

Inter have already been in touch with the former Arsenal player’s representatives. Giroud himself is keen to get a move done and is expecting further signals from the Nerazzurri.

He had received offers from some MLS franchises as well as some Chinese sides but he wishes to remain plying his trade in Europe.

The 33-year-old would like a two and a half year deal but the report states that it could be possible for a deal to be reached on the basis of a one and a half year deal instead.

Giroud has been limited to just 211 minutes on the field, spread across six appearances this term, in which he has scored one goal.
