Inter coach Antonio Conte’s outburst in the press conference earlier this week after the disappointing loss against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, may have been more helpful for the team than initially expected, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the 50-year-old Italian coach specifically commented on the squad available to him, saying that: “‘Who can you ask for more? To Barella coming from Cagliari?’ Little did he know that Nicolò Barella’s wonder strike would gift the Nerazzurri three points in a tough game against Hellas Verona yesterday.”
Furthermore, the report continues, Conte’s guidance of the team this season has seen them gain 31 points after 12 games, currently two points ahead of rivals Juventus.
If the Bianconeri beat AC Milan tonight they will again return to the top of the league table, but regardless Conte’s strong start with Inter cannot be understated.
Finally, if Conte’s rant earlier this week motivates CEO Beppe Marotta and President Steven Zhang the same way it did Barella, he could see his most wanted two players, Olivier Giroud and Arturo Vidal, arrive in January, proving more constructive than most initially thought, the report adds.
