Inter coach Antonio Conte is hoping to strengthen the squad in the upcoming January transfer window, an idea that the club’s owners Suning are on board with, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how Conte is keen to sign both Arturo Vidal and Olivier Giroud in January to add more experience to the side and provide more depth, but the club’s owners would prefer to sign younger players, with both of Conte’s choices already over the age of 30.

The satisfy this request, the report continues, Conte is ready to launch another Nerazzurri youngster. Namely 17-year-old defender Lorenzo Pirola, who is currently with the Italy Under-17 squad, has been in the Italian coach’s mind since the early days of the training retreat in the summer.

Conte is getting ready to include Pirola in the squad and start giving him some first team minutes.
