Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Verratti praised Inter owned striker Mauro Icardi, who is currently on loan with the Parisian side, when talking to French television show Telefoot hosted by French broadcaster TF1 today.

“I already knew Mauro well. He has an incredible sense for scoring goals, he reminds me a bit of Inzaghi. He’s not a player people will say ‘look what he’s doing’, but he’s very efficient.”

The 26-year-old Argentinian striker joined Paris Saint Germain earlier this summer on a one-season loan spell, with a €70 million buy option attached. So far Icardi has settled well in Paris, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in his first ten games for the club – including netting four goals in four Champions League appearances.

The Nerazzurri management will be hoping the Parisian side is impressed enough with his performances to sign him permanently, both to recover some of the money spent on his replacement, Romelu Lukaku, and to remove him from the club following last season’s drama.
