AC Milan have ignited an interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic ahead of the upcoming January transfer window according to a report in today’s paper edition of Tuttosport.
It looks like Franck Kessie may be set to leave the Rossoneri and therefore they are on the lookout for a player to replace him.
The Milan leadership wish to add an experienced head to the ranks in the place of the Ivorian midfielder and see Matic as a player they could potentially bring in.
The Serbian international has fallen far down the pecking order at United this term and has been limited to just 340 minutes across five appearances to date.
His contract is due to expire at the end of the season therefore he may be available on the cheap but his wages could be a stumbling block for the Rossoneri, who face competition from city rivals Inter for his signature.
