Despite the defeat to Borussia Dortmund stacking the odds right against Inter, Inter manager Antonio Conte is refusing to give up on the possibility of progressing in the Champions League according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere della Sera.

This is however not the former Italian national team manager’s primary objective, the report from the Milanese news outlet continues.

Conte’s main goal is to reach the opening of the winter transfer window at the beginning of January still battling it out at the top of the Serie A table with him eyeing success in his first season in charge.

The report goes on to state that should Conte manage to keep Inter competing at the top with Juventus then Inter’s January transfer window additions could well be decisive.

The Nerazzurri have drawn links to several players in recent weeks and months with the midfield believed to be the area Conte wishes to strengthen most.
