As part of an interview with the Balkan edition of Al Jazeera, Inter legend Dejan Stankovic has spoken on how it felt to be inducted into Inter’s hall of fame.

“The feeling was incredible, one of immortality. My generation has long entered the history of Inter, but the recognition of entering the Hall of Fame is something really special and great for me,” he said.

Next he was asked what he makes of Inter’s chances in the Champions League.

“This is difficult to predict. Inter has a great manager and a really good team, but Inter are in a difficult group. Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund are the favourites, as shown by the current first two positions in the group standings.

“Inter drew with Slavia in the first round, 1-1 at home, and still have to play them again. Inter lost 3-2 in Dortmund after taking a 2-0 lead and had they won, they could have taken a decisive step toward the knockout round but I am still optimistic.”

In conclusion, he was asked if he thinks Inter have what it takes to break Juventus’ domination in Italy.

“I hope they succeed in doing so even if they have a hard job ahead of them. Both clubs want to do well in Italy and in Europe, so it will be difficult to keep up. I am optimistic and I think it is time to stop the Juventus domination by winning the Scudetto. To do this Inter must show an enviable quality in the way they play and pick up consistently good results.”
