Paris Saint Germain will take up the option they have to sign Mauro Icardi on a permanent basis from Inter at the end of the current season according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere della Sera.

The Argentine has become an integral part of the French capital club’s team since his arrival on the final day of the Summer transfer window as he left Inter after a very long and drawn out transfer saga that lasted the entire Summer transfer window.

Former Sampdoria player Icardi has settled in nicely in his new surroundings having scored nine goals in his first 10 appearances for the club and appears to have overtaken PSG legend Edinson Cavani in the pecking order at the club.

As per the report, PSG can sign the 26-year-old Argentine for a sum of €70 million – a figure that will lead to Inter making a significant capital gain on him.
