In an interview in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan has admitted he believes he could have remained at Inter this season.

“I could easily have stayed at Inter. You must ask them if they are regretting letting me go,” the Belgian, who joined Cagliari on loan from the Nerazzurri, said.

He starred in Cagliari’s 5-2 win over Fiorentina, who had shown an interest in signing him before he opted for a return to Cagliari in the Summer and as part of the interview he discussed this.

“First of all I have to thank Vincenzo Montella [for showing an interest in signing me], but I had already given my word to President Giulini. I had told him that if I were to leave Inter for another them then it would be his. It was a decision made by the heart and one that makes me happy.”
