In today’s print edition, Gazzetta dello Sport have listed 10 similarities between the Inter of Antonio Conte and that of Giovanni Trapattoni.
The first similarity is that they are both Juventus icons. The second is they have directors above them who have a lot of power on the transfer market. The third is that Inter do not seem to be Pazza Inter but rather a strong and solid outfit.
The fourth similarity is that Conte, like Trapattoni did, wants to win at all costs. The fifth similarity is the outbursts. The sixth is that both their spells began with three big players leaving. In Trapattoni’s case it was Altobelli, Passerella and Scifo whilst with Conte it was Nainggolan, Icardi and Perisic.
The seventh parallel between Conte and Trapottoni’s Inter sides is the solid defence which both sides were built upon with both sides not letting many in.
The eighth is that both Trapottoni and Conte had a player signed, who was super close to joining another team. In Trap’s case it was Berti and in Conte’s case it is Barella.
The ninth similarity is the quality both sides have out wide. The 10th and final parallel is that both managers played with two strikers. Trapattoni has Diaz and Serena whilst Conte has Lautaro Martinez and Lukaku.
