Lautaro Martinez is training separate to his Argentina national team teammates ahead of their international friendlies against fellow South American nations Brazil and Uruguay according to a report from Argentine broadcaster TyC Sports.

The 22-year-old linked up with his teammates in Mallorca, Spain, for a training camp ahead of the matches and is simply training apart from the rest of the group for the time being as a precaution.

In Inter’s 2-1 victory over Hellas Verona at the weekend, Martinez sustained a head injury as he collided with Gialloblu goalkeeper Marco Silvestri.

Martinez, accompanied by his girlfriend, went to hospital and all tests conducted by doctors came back negative, meaning Martinez is fine but Argentina just want to take that little bit extra care of him off the back of it.

Martinez has made 16 appearances across all competitions this season for the Nerazzurri in which he has contributed eight goals and provided three assists.
