Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has taken to photo sharing social media platform Instagram to celebrate tying Zico as the top scorer in a single season in Flamengo history.
The 22-year-old striker, who is currently on loan at the Mengao from Inter, struck his 21st goal of the league campaign, a feat Zico achieved in both 1980 and 1982.
With a few games still to go in the season, Gabigol could well go on to become the outright record scorer.
“What can I say? I can only kneel before you our eternal idol! A historic day that I will never forget! Thank you Lord,” he posted.
