According to a respect from respected journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has been forced to leave the Italy under 21 camp due to injury.

Tests will soon be carried out to determine the extent of the injury which will lead to the 20-year-old central defender missing Italy under 21’s EURO 2021 qualifiers with Iceland and Armenia over the coming week.

Bastoni, who joined Inter from Atalanta back in 2017, has made six appearances across all competitions this term and despite being so young, has looked very composed and rarely put a foot wrong in his 486 minutes on the pitch.

Hopes are extremely high for Bastoni with Inter management and many others believing he could well be a cornerstone of the Nerazzurri defence for a long time.

In a follow up report, Di Marzio has confirmed that Bastoni has been replaced in Paolo Nicolato’s squad by Nicolo Casale, who is on loan at Serie B side Venezia from Serie A side Hellas Verona.
