Inter defender Milan Skriniar has shared his hopes for a different outcome when his Slovakia come up against Marcelo Brozovic’s Croatia this weekend in EURO 2020 qualifying action.

“I cannot wait for the game to arrive and I also think that this is the same for the other guys. Many people do not believe in us considering how the first meeting went but we hope this time things will be completely different,” he told Slovakian media outlet Sport7.

“We come into this match off the back of a good performance against Wales but the Croats will have a psychological advantage, they will certainly be calmer, because they won 4-0 at home without problems.

He concluded: “We must not be afraid, we must do much more than we did in the first game, it will not be easy, but we must fight for a good result, preferably a victory.”

The game between the two sides will take place on Saturday with kick-off scheduled for 20:45 local time.
