Nemanja Matic has requested to leave Manchester United in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Serbian newspaper 24Sata.

The central midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at the Old Trafford club under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has made it known to club bosses that he wishes to be sold to enable him to get back to playing and to continue his career elsewhere.

Matic has drawn links to several clubs in recent weeks and months and this news will undoubtedly help sides that have a reported interest in him when it comes to dealing with United.

One such club to have shown an interest is Inter, who are keen to strengthen their midfield department in view of the second half of the season.

Matic is no stranger to Inter manager Antonio Conte having worked previously with him at Chelsea and with a contract expiring at the end of the season, he may not cost all that much to bring in.
