Inter legend and current vice-president Javier Zanetti has spoken on what his iconic number four jersey means to him.
“The number four is part of me, I played more than a thousand games wearing this number and it brought me luck: it is a special number. It will always be part of me,” he is quoted as saying by Swiss television having picked up an award at the Ivan Francescato Award – A life for sport ceremony last night.
He then spoke on his nickname Pupi.
“It is my nickname and above all it is the name of my foundation through which we have taken the responsibility of giving children the possibility of having a better future and for this we are happy.
“The foundation began in 2001 and has done a lot of things, but the most beautiful thing is to see the children smile. I believe that you cannot put a price on that. The more we grow, the more children we can help.”
