Paris Saint Germain intend to take up their option to sign on-loan striker Mauro Icardi from Inter on a permanent basis come the end of the current season according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The report is quick to state that rather than the €70 million fee which has been circulated by most reports in the media, PSG’s option permits them to sign 26-year-old Icardi for a fee of €65 million, which is of course still a substantial amount and one which will give Inter a huge capital gain.

PSG are prepared to offer the Argentine a five year contract upon signing him permanently and that contract with come with an annual net salary of €12 million plus bonuses, a substantial increase on what he presently earns at Inter.

Icardi has been in sensational form since swapping Milan for Paris having scored nine goals in his first 10 games for the Parc des Princes club.
