In an interview with Italian broadcaster Rai Sport, Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali has downplayed the continued media speculation linking him to some of the biggest clubs in the world.

Firstly however, he spoke on the many comparisons which have been made between him and legendary Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo.

“It does not bother me being compared to Pirlo but I think we are very different because he had an indescribable level of technique and quality. I consider myself more like Gattuso but more technical. He has always been my idol.”

He then spoke on the interest in him and Brescia’s president Massimo Cellino’s recent comments about him.

“I love president Cellino very much and he values me a lot. He is a great person. After the match against Fiorentina he said he wouldn’t sell me even for €300 million, but it does not scare me, even if it is really a lot of money. I am confident for what we will do this year. For now I am not thinking about the transfer market, I just want to secure safety with Brescia.
