In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Alessandro Bastoni has shared his delight at how things are going for him at the moment.
“Not even in the most optimistic circumstances would I have thought of being here at Inter. I am improving a lot and I hope to go on like this. Conte knows how to treat young players well. He is a great manager, he encourages me to do better and he tells me never to be satisfied,” he started the interview which took place in the Inter flagship store in Milan.
Next he was asked if he thinks the team can win the title.
“We know it is difficult to fill the gap with Juventus, we work to win every game. Then we will see at the end of the season.”
He was then asked how it felt to play in the Derby D’Italia earlier on this season.
“In my life I have had experiences that unfortunately have changed me, so I see football only as a game. It is normal that playing in front of 80,000 people is different from playing in front of 15, but I think only about having fun.
He was then asked what he wishes to learn from his defensive partners.
“In addition to their characteristics, in ten years I would like to have their ability to give advice. It is as if I were their younger brother. What do they tell me? They are things that remain secret. Godin is a teacher, he teaches me so much. They all give me lots of advice, we’re a nice group.”
In conclusion he spoke on the feeling between the players in the dressing room.
“There are so many Italians. We are well together in the dressing room and we see each other outside of it too.”
