In an interview with Austrian broadcaster LaOla1, Inter defender Valentino Lazaro has spoken on how it feels to have taken the pitch a little more often in recent weeks.

“At the moment it is going well for me. The coach told me that after returning from the last international break that I would get my first real chances in the following period. I continued training, I waited for my chance. Then he played me against Dortmund and it went well. I am glad with my first performances,” he began.

“Playing at San Siro is special, especially the first time in front of the fans. The atmosphere was incredible and crowning it all with a victory was perfect.

“I am at a great club, there have been many changes and in pre-season I was also injured. The team was doing well so there were no reasons for changes to be made. In those moments you just have to stay calm, continue to work, wait for your chance and make the most if it when it comes.”

He then spoke on the battle with Juventus for the Serie A title.

“It will be exciting. It’s good to keep working and thinking game by game. We have many players who have not yet won so many important titles that want to grow. Of course I personally dream of a title, it would be something very special.”

In conclusion, he was asked about playing in Conte’s 3-5-2.

“It’s a completely different system to that of the national team. There are different things that are actually the exact opposite to my duties in the national team. Learning new things makes me even more complete as a player. I’ve already played in many positions in the past and I’m happy to be able to learn other facets.”
