Former Inter striker Diego Forlan has shared his belief that Inter have what it takes ot put up a title fight in Serie A this season.

Inter have picked up 31 points from 36 available to them and find themselves just a point off of top spot, which is currently occupied by their arch-rivals Juventus.

“I think Serie A has become more balanced compared to the recent past,” the Uruguayan said as part of an interview with Italian radio station TeleRadioStereo.

“Inter have grown a lot with Antonio Conte, they have a good chance of winning the title, but everything depends, as usual, on Juventus: the Bianconeri have great players, who, despite having won a lot, continue to be always at the top of the table.”

Forlan spent the 2011/12 season on the Nerazzurri’s books and went on to make 20 appearances across all competitions that season. He managed to score just two goals whilst he also provided three assists.
