In an interview which appeared in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, former Inter Primavera manager Stefano Vecchi has said he is ready to get back into management and reflected on his spells in interim charge of the Nerazzurri first time.

“I am ready for Serie A, I have the ambition to try again. When I was in charge of Inter there were lots of unique emotions. The first victory with Crotone is something unforgettable, just like the atmosphere of Southampton in that Europa League game,” Vecchi, who is currently in charge of Serie C side Sudtirol explained.

He also touched upon the managers he took interim charge of after they were relieved of their duties in Frank de Boer and Stefano Pioli.

“Sometimes foreigners struggle to understand Italian football. As for Pioli, he is an excellent manager, he showed it at Fiorentina.”

In conclusion he said who he looks to for inspiration.

“I look to Conte in terms of the way he works whilst I look to Gasperini in terms of tactics.”
