Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz has confirmed that they have spoken further with Inter with regards to Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa.

“Gabriel’s situation is still as I said it was [a few days ago]. We have spoken with Inter. Everything is fine. We have talked to the player as well, he is very calm,” Braz remarked in an interview with Brazilian broadcaster Fox Sports.

The 22-year-old striker has been on loan with the Rio de Janeiro club since January this year and his loan is due to expire at the end of next month.

Flamengo have made it absolutely crystal clear that they wish to keep a hold of the Brazilian international past the loan spell and as per various reports both in Brazilian and Italian media, the two clubs already have an agreement in principle over him.

Gabigol has made 51 appearances across all competitions during his loan spell and has scored 37 goals in the process.
