In today’s print edition, Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have praised Inter for the trust they have shown in playing youngsters this season.

As a result of a series of injuries in recent weeks, Antonio Conte has been forced to rely on more and more young players, including 17-year-old Sebastiano Esposito, who has made four appearances lately.

Conte is mostly focusing on players under the age of 25 at the moment with Alessandro Bastoni (20), Nicolò Barella and Lautaro Martinez  (22), Valentino Lazaro  (23) and Stefano Sensi (24) all playing a part this season.

In the Nerazzurri’s last match, a 2-1 home win over Hellas Verona, just one player in the starting line-up exceeded the age of 30 in goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, who is 35. The line-up was in fact Inter’s second youngest of the season with it having an average age of 25 years and 360 days.

This first youngest squad came in the league game before that against Bologna wherein the average age was 25 years and 266 days.
