Inter Manager Conte Wants Giroud Brought In In January

Antonio Conte wants to see Olivier Giroud signed in the upcoming January transfer window to bolster his attacking department according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 33-year-old has fallen right down the pecking order at Chelsea but despite this remains a focal point of the attack in the France national team, who he has made 94 caps for, scoring 37 goals.

Giroud’s contract with the Premier League club is due to expire at the end of the current season therefore meaning Inter could land him on the cheap, with some reports stating that around €7 million should be enough to sign him.

Conte and Giroud are no strangers to one another having worked together during Conte’s stint in charge of Chelsea. Conte was in fact the man who brought Giroud to Stamford Bridge and the pair could find themselves reunited at San Siro in the coming months.

This season Giroud has made six appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal in the process.
