Inter coach Antonio Conte received an anonymous letter containing a variety of threats as well as a bullet a few days ago, with the 50-year-old Italian coach now under police protection, according to a report from the online edition of Corriere della Sera.
The report details how the police and carabinieri are regularly patrolling the area of Milan where the Nerazzurri coach lives, with the same thing also happening at Inter’s offices in the city. Conte himself reported the incident to the police and handed over the evidence, allowing for the investigation to begin.
Furthermore, the investigation hasn’t revealed many details about the contents of the letter. However, the report suggests that the threats don’t contain any links to criminal organisations or other fan groups, suggesting that it was made by a single individual. Conte will continue to be monitored by police over the coming weeks to ensure his safety.
