Former Torino striker Marco Ferrante spoke about the upcoming league clash between the two sides in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

He first touched on how he feels about the current Torino squad.

“They are a team that have made a great comeback after a difficult period. From the derby I saw a good Toro, then the victory against Brescia was great. The Toro are back on track.”

The 48-year-old Italian was unhappy about the refereeing in Torino’s recent 1-0 loss to Juventus but was impressed with their play in the first half.

“To have played against Juve like we did, against the top in the league. And with the right refereeing decisions it would have ended differently. De Ligt, for example…”

He elaborated further on the hand ball committed by De Ligt in the derby.

“For me, it was a penalty without a doubt. But it had to be reviewed at least by VAR. The truth is that this year there is a lot of confusion about how and when to apply VAR and this step doesn’t happen properly.”

Finally, Ferrante spoke about Torino’s next opponents, Inter, and what he expects from the game.

“I’ll start by saying that Inter are a very important team with an impressive physicality, but I don’t think they have yet understood all of Conte’s methods.

“Even though they create a lot and have a very strong duo in Lukaku-Lautaro, they don’t play very well and always risk taking the guilottine. I’m confident: Toro can take advantage of them and can put them in crisis, if they can play a tight game, compact, without giving space and hitting them on the counter. Toro have the weapons to hurt Inter.”
