The Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the threats received by Inter coach Antonio Conte over the last few days, according to a report from Italian news outlet ANSA.

The report details how the investigation will look to find the individual responsible for sending aggravated threats to the Nerazzurri coach. Conte received a letter containing a variety of threats as well as a bullet. Furthermore, the report adds that the investigation is being coordinated by Alberto Nobili, an expert of counterterrorism in Milan, with responsibility also being handed to the Carabinieri.

The Nerazzurri clarified the situation and rumours that Conte himself reported the letter, saying today that Conte “did not personally receive any threatening letter and, consequently, did not go in himself to file a complaint. It was the club that received a letter and, as is standard practice in this type of situation, took steps to contact the competent authorities.”
