Former Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi praised the work of Italy coach Roberto Mancini in a report in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Azzurri have started to win regularly, convince their fans and have fun whilst on the pitch – visible in their 3-0 win over Bosnia in their Euro 2020 qualifier on Friday. Furthermore, Mancini had inherited a sluggish and disappointing Italy side, who failed to qualify for last summer’s World Cup in Russia, and yet has managed to turn the team into an exciting and creative squad less than two years later.

The current squad are now one of the top teams heading into next summer’s European Championships, the report highlights, with Mancini’s tactical decisions smart and optimistic, avoiding defensive or boring football and instead looking to create opportunities through quick movement up the pitch.

The report also touches on the squad solidarity moving forward. The players are all together both on and off the pitch, working together well, having fun and giving their all for each other, despite differences in clubs.
