Barcelona are keenly interested in Inter striker Lautaro Martinez. The club’s Director of Football Eric Abidal spoke clearly about the 22-year-old Argentine striker in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Spain based newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

“I am always transparent with the players, Luis Suarez can confirm that already last year I told him that we would seek a forward, and he accepted it because he wants the best for the team.”

The 40-year-old Frenchman refused to admit that Lautaro was the Blaugrana’s primary target, suggesting that they were following other forwards as well with the same level of interest.

“Today I can say that there is no priority. Lautaro Martinez is a complete player, I think he’s expressing himself at the highest level. He’s a player we know, just like there are other players who have a lot of quality.”

Lautaro has started this season explosively for the Nerazzurri, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in 16 appearances for the club.
