Inter defender Milan Skriniar has been a subject of further market rumours from Spain today, with interested clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid heating up their interest, rumours confirmed in a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The report details how the Nerazzurri renewed Skriniar’s contract earlier this year in May but didn’t include a release clause so he wouldn’t be the subject of market attention. However, the Milanese side may not be regretting this thanks to the interest from the two Spanish giants. The clubs had previously come up with figures of around €60 million for the Slovakian defender, an offer Inter always declined, although this may change soon.

A report from the paper edition of Turin based newspaper Tuttosport confirmed this, adding that it’s more likely that the player will leave the Nerazzurri next June rather than in the upcoming January transfer window. Furthermore, by next summer the Nerazzurri may be more willing to let the player leave if the growth of young defender Alessandro Bastoni continues, or if they sign Jan Vertonghen from Tottenham as a free agent.
