Inter and Genoa are working on a potential player swap in the upcoming January transfer window, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Genoa based newspaper Il Secolo XIX.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are prepared to offer Italian forward Matteo Politano to the Rossoblu, due to his lack of impact in coach Antonio Conte’s system and limited playing time, in exchange for 20-year-old Italian striker Andrea Pinamonti.

The Nerazzurri only gave the Ligurian club Pinamonti this summer on a loan deal with an obligation to buy but are impressed with his strong performances and want him back.

Furthermore, the report highlights how the Rossoblu aren’t desperately keen on the idea of losing Pinamonti, especially considering his young age. He has scored two goals and provided three assists in 11 appearances for the Ligurian club so far this season.

However, they may be tempted by Politano, who scored six goals and provided six assists in 48 appearances last season for Inter.
