The Italian press were less impressed with Inter full-back Cristiano Biraghi in Italy’s 9-1 win last night over Armenia compared to his teammate, Nicolo Barella.

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport awarded Biraghi a 6.5 rating, touching on his unremarkable performance, but also highlighting how it’s hard for the player to look impressive against such an uninspired attack.

He received a slightly worse rating in a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who gave the 27-year-old Italian a 6. They suggested that Biraghi was forced to remain more defensive due to the playstyle of the other full-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

Finally, he was given a 6.5 rating again in a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport. The report highlighted how he was a little bit anxious during the game and didn’t contribute too much, especially considering the play of Armenia, but touched on his growing confidence later on in the game.
