Torino coach Walter Mazzarri is facing a small defensive crisis ahead of their upcoming game against Inter on Saturday, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how 22-year-old Brazilian defender Lyanco will be unavailable for the Granata against the Nerazzurri, leaving Mazzarri with only four defensive options for his back three.

Furthermore, 23-year-old Italian defender Kevin Bonifazi is unavailable due to a hand fracture, a loss considering his strong performances so far this season.

Therefore, Mazzarri is likely to use a back three of Armando Izzo, Nicolas N’Koulou and Bremer, the report continues. This will leave his only backup option to be 26-year-old Ivorian defender Koffi Djidji.

However, it’s not all bad news for the Torino coach, the report adds. 27-year-old Italian midfielder Daniele Baselli has returned to squad training today and his hoping to be available for Saturday’s game, if not an appearance on the pitch at least an appearance on the bench, as he would like to celebrate his 200th Serie A appearance.

Finally, Mazzarri will rely on a midfield of Sasa Lukic, Soualiho Meïté and Tomás Rincón against the Nerazzurri, the report suggests.
