Former Inter, Milan, and Napoli CEO Marco Fassone discussed the current situation at Napoli and compared it to the club structure used by Inter’s president Steven Zhang in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Marte.

“Serie A? In my Napoli there were the famous 3 players while today, compared to the previous mini cycle, there is a new reality in Serie A that is consolidating. Inter I think have found an important dimension.”

“They represent an additional obstacle for Napoli, who have the advantage of having a stable owner. De Laurentiis doesn’t seem to me to want to get out of it, then football is made up of cycles, but I’m sure that Napoli will go up the ladder again.”

Fassone then touched on his experiences with AC Milan, who he left in 2018.

“When I went to Milan, I already had wide shoulders, I had consolidated my experience and I had a distant owner that allowed me to manage everything closely and for this reason what was done for better or for worse was a blow and my merit.”

“I must say, however, that in July 2018, when we left the club, we could have competed in a serious way for fourth place.”
