Inter owned striker Mauro Icardi, currently on loan with Paris Saint Germain, has impressed the French club so much that they are willing to enact the €70 million buy option on the player in January, according to a report from French media outlet Buzzsport.fr.
The report details how the club’s sporting director Leonardo is keen to speed up the process and finalise the deal for the 26-year-old Argentinian striker because it would allow the Parisian side to save between €5-10 million. This is because Inter are hoping to close the deal as soon as possible and would be willing to meet with the French club. Therefore, Leonardo hopes to close the agreement out by the end of the January transfer window.
Icardi has started the season incredibly strongly with the Parisian club, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in ten games, including netting four goals in four Champions League appearances, a competition that PSG have historically struggled in.
