Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello discussed the latest developments regarding the new stadium project in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia today.
“There are points to clarify, beyond the answers of the municipal administration that are not clear. Perhaps we have had more clarity from the interview given by the mayor Beppe Sala. We have never closed the doors to dialogue, we have always been available, we have always been available, from the work to the technical tables. We have investors ready to spend €1.2 billion but the main thing is the fans, who deserve a stadium equal to the city and our clubs.”
Both Inter and AC Milan were keen to demolish the existing San Siro in order to make space for one of the two proposed projects, an idea that was blocked by the City Council, who told both Milanese teams that the existing San Siro cannot be demolished, and instead the idea of renovating it must be further explored.
